Accomplishments
At KBC, we deliver innovative solutions and trusted expertise to meet the evolving needs of federal agencies. Our track record spans mission-critical projects in technology, operations, and strategic planning, driving measurable impact across government programs.

-
Objective: Support NETL’s learning and development initiative by designing and implementing a customized and sustainable learning and development framework, organizational structure and phased systematic process.
-
Accomplishment(s):
-
KBC provided key training to NETL’s Science & Technology Strategic Plans & Programs (S&T) personnel by enhancing critical workplace skills and productivity while encouraging personnel to think creatively and solve problems. This training allowed the client to provide innovative solutions to the nation’s critical energy challenges.
-
Delivered key leadership, communication content, and hands-on leadership experiences to S&T personnel to enhance critical workplace skills (e.g. relationship and team building, psychological safety, efficiency, and productivity).
-
Used innovative workshop facilitation techniques to engage S&T participants in team-building activities that fostered deeper employee and inter-organizational connections through the discovery of shared experiences.
-
-
Objective: Support NETL’s Industrial Partnership including vital work on the National Advisory Committee on Coal, the Carbon Utilization Research Council, and other partnership efforts.
-
Accomplishment(s):
-
KBC supported key industrial partnerships that allowed NETL to achieve its goals while bringing in expertise and knowledge from various sectors of the economy. These partnerships also provide institutional knowledge to foster the commercialization of NETL innovative technologies.
-
Utilized SharePoint additional resources to provide timely updates and improved communication and efficiency to client processes.
-
Created customized booklets for specific events that highlight NETL’s capabilities and successes.
-
-
Objective: Provide DOE’s Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) with a proven and effective tool to manage its large portfolio of projects.
-
Accomplishment(s):
-
KBC launched the Project Management Enterprise (PME) system in May 2024. The system has improved MESC’s ability to monitor solicitations, awards, portfolios, and funding. The tool also allows MESC to have readily available data showcased in dashboards and reporting features for upper management.
-
Because the PME was built on an existing project management framework, KBC provided the system at a far lower cost and in a much shorter timeframe than would otherwise be possible.
-
Having all award and solicitation information in one system has allowed MESC to streamline processes with a significant reduction of time and effort.
-
-
Objective: Support NETL in executing Requests for Information and Funding Opportunity Announcements for multiple DOE Offices.
-
Accomplishment(s):
-
KBC has supported NETL on over 100 FOAs with a combined value of over $35 billion. KBC supports the entire life cycle including public notifications, identifying training hundreds of merit reviewers, supporting compliance review, organizing hundreds of consensus review meetings, records management, and documentation of processes and results. KBC implements tools to continuously improve and automate these processes.
-
-
Objective: Foster workforce training to support the growing need for U.S.-based battery manufacturing.
-
Accomplishment(s):
-
KBC developed a curriculum for Machine Operator, which is a key occupation for U.S. battery manufacturers. This framework will assist companies and other organizations to offer positions and apprenticeships for this essential occupation. The curriculum was tested and validated by three companies through BWI’s pilot training program.
